Dr Shafton provided emergency care on August 24, 2025 for AFib. On 8/25/25 it was determined I also had a saddle pulmonary embolism. It was determined the clot needed to be treated and resolved first. An echo was completed on 12/23/2025 and CAT scan on 12/26/25 to confirm the embolism was completely resolved which is was. Very personable, but I felt he wasn’t aware of my health issues and prescribing cardiology meds in light of them. Had bad experiences with statins. In fact, one of them landed me in the ER. After two months of negative side effects I gave up on him. Perhaps I’m a rarity, but it would have been helpful if he looked at the whole picture.
I have had a GREAT EXPERIENCE with all the intermountain Doctors. I'm very greatful to the services staff and the doctors that I see. I finally feel I'm in good hands, it's been an amazing experience, couldn't ask for a better group of doctors!
