I've had Protection 1 for almost 2 years now. I got a system which I installed myself. Everything has worked great. I've had no false alarms. I really like that I can manage my alarm system with my phone. It's pretty inexpensive, too. I thought their contracts were a bit long to cover the free equipment. The worse service, if you cancel the service they will keep charge your card, if you stop your card they will send you collection agent, they will never ever cancel your service
Their original service contract is excessively long (5 years) for free equipment and their monthly monitoring charges are much higher than their competitors. Read the fine print. On the other hand the equipment has worked ok. The indoor video camera is poor quality.

This company really sucks but the people actually doing the work such as michael William's are the only ones keeping this company afloat. If your having problems just call"the man" that being Michael. The man has been taking care of us for 13+ years. Unfortunately this might be the only one who knows what customer satisfaction means. Hoping someone in management reads this review and compensates him for his diligent work.
