Had the most incredible experience today at Ascension Saint thomas Center for Breast Health! When you are nervous about the outcome of your breast imaging, you need people to be kind and extra gentle with your experience. My mammo tech was Karen and she was super sweet and personable. I needed additional imaging with ultrasound and Carmen was my tech. She was smiling and compassionate and laughed with me. She explained exactly what she would be doing and put me at ease. I have dense breast tissue and just moved here. Trying to get my 4th mammo/ultrasound. My OBGYN prescribed/authorized it. This place will not do an ultrasound due to doctors orders/unless I have something troubling on the mammogram and if they feel like it. Their outsourced overseas scheduling dept knows nothing about this and kept scheduling it as if it were fine. Lisa, Dr Carter, Dr Gates, and the entire team here is so incredibly attentive and caring. I would recommend St Thomas Center for Breast Health to all of my female friends, and family!
The ladies at the front desk are great. The nurses and techs need to use more respectful, quiet voices when speaking to patients. I understand a loud voice when seeking a patient from the waiting room, but being barked at with instructions in a still public setting is embarrassing. Some of us are modest and wish to speak quietly and privately. Also, your gowns smell absolutely atrocious, worse than any gym towel I’ve ever been offered.
