I was on a long weekend birthday vacation with my adult daughter when unfortunately my life-long auto-immune disease decided to flare. I had to go by ambulance from our hotel room to the ER. Staff was excellent but the billing system was not forthcoming or truthful. Day of visit my "itemized list of items or services that are reasonably expected to be furnished with" per the bill was paid on site. I received a new bill months later that had updated the estimated costs by over 150% and tripling my payment, also neglecting to rerun the new bill through my insurance as previous deductibles had been met already. I was admitted inpatient last week in psych unit. There was a severe lack of transparency. I never even received unit rules without asking. There was no disclosure of rights or policy without asking several nurses. Cynthia, Alex, and Barb were excellent, insightful, and extremely supportive during a hard time. I wish their great work was enough to offset my unhappiness with care. The medical staff were very good. Went there for a medical procedure. The general phone number had a recorded message for parking : $5 with validation. So we validated the stub and paid at machine which gave no receipt. But our credit card got charged $20.
