We had a fascinating tour at Asarco mines. Took1 hour bus tour out to see mine and processing plant. Tour inside museum is free and you can see huge mining trucks and equipment without taking tour. Our guide, Mike, was enthusiastic, informative and funny and really made the tour interesting. Size and scale of mine and all equipment is truly astounding. I will never take copper for granted again. Highly recommended.
Staff very helpful and friendly. Unusual touristy trinkets available. Historic mining equipment on display. The guided tour requires a reservation and is quite worth it.
Stumbled upon this gem by accident. We were welcomed by the lovely young lady in the gift shop. I believe her name was Amber? She was extremely helpful and kind. My husband is hard of hearing and needs things repeated often. She didn't blink an eye and smiled while doing so. She told us about the Discovery Center and all of the things to do there.
