If you love sushi, then this is definitely the best place to be for you and your Japanese food-loving friends. You'll not get disappointed with what you will get here.
This place gives the best and the most genuine Japanese cuisine experience out there. There are so many good sushi platter and incredible booze too.
Good solid food and relaxed atmosphere – I have been going to this restaurant for 15 years - 2 owners. They always make you feel welcome, are attentive but never pushy, and the food is always fresh. If you want Asian Fusion or especially creative items, go to Sushi Ai in Palatine and expect to pay a lot more. But if you want a good, reliable meal, where you can hear and enjoy the people you are with, then this is a great place.
Not Good Sushi – I've been to about a half dozen sushi places in the NW burbs (and many places in chicago) and this place is the worst. I can't really understand how this place has been around for as long as it has (5 years or so?) I've been there 3 times in the last 5 years (each time thinking that they must have improved - and I've been wrong each time) its been empty every time -- however, there are some photos on the walls showing tons of people -- maybe I'm just not going when "the good sushi chef" is in?
Best Japanese Restaurant in the burbs! – My wife and I have been going Asahi since DAY 1. You always feel welcomed when you first walk into the door. Bring you kids. The food is great We would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant! Enjoy!!!
