Maria Turner is professional, knowledgeable, dependable, and non-judgemental. Two years ago she was the ONLY voice in my life who was willing to kindly and gently challenge my total denial of being in an unsafe situation with my baby's father and using drugs while pregnant. I have seen personally the work she puts in on a daily basis. She goes above and beyond in regards to trainings and studying to be as informed as possible to meet the unique needs of her clients.
I was excited to go to As We Thrive because she was highly recommended by someone I knew. The last session I attended she raised her voice at me and said , "Is this the quality of life you want to have?" I left confused, hurt and afraid of being around christian counselors. I have gone to numerous counselors and Maria has been one of my favorites by far. She has taught me new ways of looking at situations that have radically changed how I interact with others and myself. She challenges me to grow in a non-judgmental way. She is very knowledgeable about mental health and attachment issues. Maria is passionate about what she does and I would recommend to many women, particularly women with recent pregnancy and postpartum concerns.
