I've been going to Arto's Service Station for a little over ten years. My brand new 2002 Honda was a lemon and I can't imagine what I would have done without an honest mechanic on my side. He saw me through 2 failed transmissions and a slew of other repairs that would have cost me thousands else where. Great Honest Service with a Smile – This is now the place I go for any type of car repair. Came with a list the dealership said needed to be done and after looking at the car let me know that only 3 of the 7 really needed to be done. Arranged to drop it off and they had it back when promised and for substantially less that the dealership (but not surprising). More importantly, gave me the choice of after market parts or Toyota, gave me the pros and cons and let me make the informed decision.
Dont have this butcher work on your car – After spending well over $2,000.00 on repairs and telling me the car is safe, I lost all my brake fluid on the highway from the crap work they did on the brakes. Do not have them repair your car!!!!!
An honest mechanic is hard to find – AAA towed me to these guys when my alternator died. The driver insisted that this little shop would turn my car right around. It's not affiliated with big oil co.s, so the gas may be questionable. But they fixed my car quickly and they arranged for a car to take me to and from work while they worked. One of the mechanics even bought me a coffee from Dunkin Donuts when he made a run for the guys. What a rip off – If you're looking for cheap gas, this could be a contender except that I'm not sure it's even gas. After the damage done to my car I went as far a contacting the Watertown Weights & Measures Department to complain. These guys are SHADY!
Chauvanists – So I'm a decent looking woman who drives a convertible. The attendant assumed that I knew nothing about cars and tried to convince me that he heard a noise that would require service immediately and that he was just the guy to do it. As if any woman with any sense would ever a. succomb to his advances and b. let him touch her car. Don't go near here after dark. In fact, don't go here at all.
Bad Gas – I stopped here on my way out of town because it was near my friend's house. I requested premium fuel. Judging by the number of car problems I had shortly later, my mechanic diagnosed the problem as getting bad gas. You can get higher quality gas from consuming a can of beans.
