Stay Away from Artisan! These people are dishonest. We bought the first house they built in Fernandina Beach. They asked us to do an interview with the local newspaper before we even bought the house, so we had no way to know what they were really like. All we could do is to tell them they had been good to work with. I would love a chance to revisit the interview. I could say a lot, but I will just mention two things they did. Worst home building experience we’ve ever had. Cheap materials. No insulation. Hot water plumbed to cold side. Zero communications. Trees died that they planted. Run from these people. They do not care!
My fiancé and I were referred to Robert at Artisan Homes as one of our good friends recently worked with Robert to build a beautiful home in Fernadina Beach. Robert knows the North Florida Real Estate Market better than anyone we spoke to in our months of preliminary conversations that we had while researching (and by very far). Artisan's advertisements claim they are a luxury home builder and their prices also reflect that but they are not. I have an Artisan home and there are so many things that are poor quality. There was no attention to detail in the finishing work and lots of shortcuts were taken. The accessories like faucets, light fixtures, towel racks, and more were the cheapest they could buy. This review pertains to the Enclave in Fernandina. The worst experience building a home, and we’ve built a few. Horrible communication from the get go coming from the sales team, unreturned calls, emails, nearly impossible to get a hold of. When we finally signed a contract to build and started working on modifying the plans, they fired the person in charge of that (which ironically up to that point was the only one who timely returned calls, emails and actually followed through with things).
