My mother was a resident at The Artis of Somers for about a year and a half. We had such a wonderful experience with yourfacility on every level from her intake to her passing. The staff there are beyond caring and respectful of the residents. They are truly amazing people. My father has moved in a week ago and the location is gorgeous. The food speaks for itself my father was not eating properly for such a very long time and now he sits down and eats the whole meal with friends that he met. He has only been there a week, but every staff member greets him with his name and is always cheerful and engaging. I feel like he is safe and well taken care of. I had many wonderful experiences at Artis of Somers! The executive director, Terry, is exceptionally caring, empathetic, and helpful. The cheerful front desk staff creates a welcoming atmosphere. Pretty facility, good food. Disorganized, dangerous. The facility has told my mother's doctor and the nurses on staff that I am NOT her Healthcare Proxy repeatedly over 5 months. I am her daughter, I am a medical doctor and I was legally designated by my mother to be her healthcare proxy 15 years ago. This lasts indefinitely in NY State unless changed by the patient. My siblings and I have clarified this point and sent the paperwork to Artis multiple times. Many phone conversations. I was assured this has been taken care of ... read more
