10k/month gets fake eggs and microwave biscuits/tatertots and a tiny room with no private family seating. They try to avoid even letting visitors see the rooms. Good reviews here likely reflect priorities. If your loved one’s spirit is already extinguished, much of this might not matter. There is no place better for your loved one with dementia than Artis. My mother was absolutely so challenging to manage once she got dementia and needed care and she was very difficult because she was contrary and didn't want any help or anyone to come near her. She became suspicious and distrustful of everybody. She stopped eating and taking care of herself in every way imaginable. Truly a well-managed and caring residence. I especially name, besides top management, Lheo, Sam, Ashley, Shatiah, and Maria. All the nurses, caregivers, and even the housekeepers are very cheerful and considerate.

The Administrative Staff at Artis Memory Potomac have gone out of their way to support the transition for my husband and for myself into their caring, supportive , and engaging environment. Their responsiveness is timely to all of my questions, concerns, and uncertainties as both my husband and I navigate this new & unfamiliar path in our journey of supporting his dementia journey. After having my 88 year old mother in two other care facilities where she received 5 fractures, I’m so grateful to have found Artis. Artis is a very special place and the people who work there are very special people. It’s what I had always hoped a home like this would be!
