I was referred by my primary physician for hip pain. After the initial paperwork I was called back promptly and X-rays in just a few minutes. A few minutes later Dr. Arthur came in and asked questions about my pain and did an examination. He showed me the X-rays and the decision was made by me for hip replacement surgery. Dr Arthur is as inadequate a doctor and surgeon as I’ve ever known. He put a plate and screws in my 94-year old mother two weeks ago. She had multiple fractures of the ankle/lower leg. He then demanded that she walk on the injured leg immediately, using 50% weight. None of the therapists in rehab could believe the orders. So much so that they called to verify the orders were accurate. My mother has been in rehab for 10-days, and the therapists have been making her stand and walk. I have seen Dr Arthur several times for bursitis and arthritis. Cortisone shots help a lot and today he gave me great news...no knee surgery is needed. He is easy to talk to and medically conservative, which I like.
