Terrible, unreachable service!
I was looking to set up a number of outdoor cameras at my workplace and saw that Arpel offered this service. On their website under CCTV for Business, they have a phone number listed when you click "Contact us for a free estimate!" This number takes you to an IVR for *existing* clients. There was no option for new customers, so I had no choice but to choose "billing inquiry" in the IVR with hopes of getting an agent on the line who could transfer me to the correct department. Arpel has been bought out by Telus, without warning to their customers. We got a bill out of the blue. Expect the great Arpel service to tank badly, and customer service to be as unreachable and long waits as all Telus services are. We will be switching ASAP.
Inadequate Security Response We have been patrons of Arpel for two years, paying a monthly monitoring fee with a lockbox. We previously had been really lucky, never having the alarm activated for any reason. Installation and start up was smooth. Recently we had an incident with a motion sensor triggered inside the house, at midday, while we were away. The monitoring company called quickly to confirm a security check was required. I chose this company because of the good reviews, and because it’s locally-based. I wish I could say my experience was good as well, but it’s been far from that. The installation, technical support and follow-up have all been a huge let-down. I now regret my decision and wish I would have went with one of the bigger companies =[
