Approximately a month ago I went to the Emergency Room with back/side pain. It was busy and was in the hall (which is fine, It’s a small town, and gets busy) Dr. Fitt assessed my situation and ended up referring me to a specialist (Dr Hoock- great orthopedic specialist) and gave me medicine. It has been many years I have dealt with this issue and thank God for his referral because I am FINALLY on track to getting relief with my spine( wasn’t my back the whole time!)Other doctors always said it was my back. I am so grateful f... read more

I have needed emergency services 3 times total. This is the worst emergency room in Maine. I went in with shortness of breath, chest pain and 103 temp… it was not treated like an emergency. They took a woman with a sprain wrist before me and other non-emergencies. Ended up sending me home. I went to another hospital and was diagnosed with a life threatening infection. The people are very nice but unless you come in unconscious, you will not get true emergency room attention.

We’ve been here 5 times prior to this trip because of so many false diagnoses. Waited about 2 hrs to get a room and when we finally got in we had waited another 50 minutes until a nurse arrived. Girlfriend asked if she could use the bathroom before her blood was to be drawn and the nurse had replied with a snarky “okay.” She hadn’t been in the bathroom for more than a twenty seconds when the nurse had said she was ‘just going to go back to her desk’, and took everything with her. Once my girlfriend had gotten back from the b... read more

Daughter waiting near six hours in emergency room where she had been referred by local Urgent Care. From what I have heard from local Presque Islers, this is the Er's typical (routine ) performance. Shame on this medical practice. I would give them a zero rather than a one star. Shame,Shame, Shame. .

Although the staff are very kind, my 84 yr old mother was left in a hallway for 3 hours "no more beds" while they discussed her medical issue with 3 people (they may be security) laughed and played on phones and were otherwise annoying). She had no privacy and was uncomfortable. Meanwhile there was an obviously unstable man (with a room I might add) that ran up and down the hall...in front of the 3 amigos...who did or said nothing..I would post a picture of the 3 I speak of if I could. 😡
