Extremely disappointing experience at Armidale Hospital Emergency Department. We brought our very young daughter to the ED at around 11:15 pm because she was repeatedly vomiting, including yellow-coloured vomit. We didn’t come to the hospital for fun — we came because she is a small baby and we were genuinely worried about her. The male doctor who saw us in Room 2 was smiling/laughing while we were explaining why we had brought our baby in. Whilst visiting interstate I ended up in a world of pain. I attended the Armidale A&E where I experienced outstanding service and a truly positive experience. The reception staff were welcoming, friendly and compassionate from the moment I arrived. The nurses were exceptional, providing wonderful care and reassurance throughout my visit. The A&E doctor was highly professional, knowledgeable and incredibly understanding, showing genuine sympathy and kindness at a time when I was in considerable pain and feeling very unwell. I tripped and fell while running on a gravel road, injuring my nose, forehead and arm. I am 77 years old. On arriving in Emergency, I was assessed quickly by the triage nurse with a blood pressure check and asked to wait to see a doctor. It took several hours to be seen - which was understandable given the number of people in the waiting room. I was very happy with the emergency doctor - Dr Khan - who was competent and professional.
