Lou has done a lot of work on 2 of my 1911's. It is my understanding this is what he specializes in. The work done on both was flawless and both functioned perfectly. One 1911 job invovled completely gutting it and replacing the internals with Wilson combat "bulletproof" line of hardened steel internals and components, which 2 other smiths did not want to take up. I went to Louis Masocia in late December 2016 to replace the stock sights on my Walther PPS I chose the XS Big Dot sights, waited on week,paid $50 and the gun shot badly. Also it shot badly Left like missing a 3 inch circle from 10 ft away I was assured by Louis that the sights were dead on I blamed the sights, I didnt like the XS style at all So I had louis change the sights again to TruGlo TRX sights which are 3 dot fiber&tritium and much more like a standard sight picture I paid him $65 for this Not only did the gun shoot... read more

Lewis is the kind of gunsmith that we all hope to find and know but seldom are so lucky. His work is top-notch and his advice and counsel are well worth the price of admission. There are none of those "mine is bigger than yours" games that you find at so many establishments that service and sell firearms. His knowledge of guns is broad and he gives advice in a friendly, kind and appropriate manner. His work is outstanding and he turns projects around quickly. Don't waste your time with some gavone.
