RecommendedGreat venue, fantastic acoustics, it is really neat inside. I am glad it never lost its' charm by getting "remodeled", or through a corporate conglomerate takeover like so many venues have. I saw Jane's Addiction there. It was AMAZING.
Every seat is a grate seat
Love this big 'ol theatre. Architecture is classic. Inside the auditorium, it's made to make you feel like you're outdoors. Look up to the ceiling painted deep blue with little lights for stars. Spanish street sets surround you, complete with painted shadows on the walls behind the sconces. Touches like that just aren't done anymore. It's the largest seating capacity of all the theatres here. Best place to see a film that needs to be on a large screen.
This is a classic old movie palace with a unique Santa Barbara flair. The walls inside the theatre are designed to look like a faux Mexican village, and the ceiling is designed with little twinkle lights to look like a night time sky. The seats are not as comfortable and spacious as the newer more modern venues, but it's fun viewing a movie in one of these old movie houses.
This place sucks for concerts. The employees power trip and the theater was so hot, on a cold night! The sound is terrible too. I will not be going back, I do now refer this theater to anyone, and would suggest they check the mold from all the humidity.
Terrible place to see a concert, unless you like to constantly be harassed by the staff, or squeeze into seats and stand like robots all night. The security needs some lessons on attitude as well. Never going back!!
Very cozy atmoshere, although there were to many security guards walking up and down the aisles while the show was on, very distracting
