We had such a great first day at Arkaroola! The staff were so helpful, especially Kaleb on the ridge top tour and May behind the bar (who was so friendly and smiley)
Location is stunning, something like we've never seen before. The colours in the mountains are gorgeous and the geological history is incredible. Campground is great if you're after something simple, to be in nature and enjoy the stars. The 2 young girls working reception need to learn to smile, wasn't a warm welcome at all after a long drive in. Hopefully it isn't a regular thing but during the night that we stayed there seemed to be a big party in the bar/restaurant with some of the locals/staff. It wasn't a good look and ... read more
Arkaroola is a unique gem hidden in the Flinders Ranges of SA. Fitting for the geological wonderland that surrounds it, the people that work there clearly love the area and what they do there. An easy relaxed atmosphere, we enjoyed the company of our tour guides through mountain tours during the day, and star gazing tours through the night. A high quality restaurant with well stocked bar and gift store, all you need is a good pair of walking shoes and a camera.
Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary is in a stunning location and it provides an experience that ranges from rustic to high-tech. We (two couples) spent four days at Arkaroola and we felt that the longer we stayed the more we liked it. When you are in the Outback you need to chill and go with the flow and Arkaroola is a great place to do this.
