It seems like we all share a similar experience with the billing department. I got a final notice (the first letter) 7 months after my procedure occured.
They told us this was just a wellness procedure for my husband bc of his age and it was covered. In the paperwork, he noted occasionally reacting to food. They charged it like a preexisting condition, yet told him he was fine and nothing was wrong. Then RAKED us with an outrageous bill that we PAID IN FULL electronically, yet we just got turned into a debt collector who mailed the letter 6 days after we payed online. I received a bill from Arkansas Pathology Associates claiming I owed them $115.00 for services rendered. I am on Medicare with Humana Supplement. I pay almost $300.00 a month for the Supplement and ALL charges approved by Medicare are paid. I immediately called and I explained they filed as Advantage. They refused to listen and sent it to collections! From what I have read in the reviews and from my experience, this "business" needs to be closed down!!!
Gotta love receiving a threatening letter about the ENORMOUS and LIFE ALTERING amount of $30.91. Believe me, I certainly would have paid this long ago if I had received any previous notices. The snarky “since we provided treatment for you in your time of need, we only think it’s fair to” blah blah blah…first of all I will definitely be asking any doctor to absolutely not use this lab without my knowledge or consent. I received several incorrect billing statements and made several calls regarding it. They kept telling me that I didn't have insurance at the time of service (I did) but APA insisted I didn't. Shelly hung up the phone on me, interrupted me over and over again (even after she just asked me a question) and was overall rude and unhelpful. It was disappointing to be treated like this when all I wanted was to figure out why I had an incorrect bill.
