Best fried shrimp This place has the best fried shrimp around, and the hushpuppies are wonderful. Not a big fan of their chicken, but then again, that's not why I eat there. Yeah, it's a walk-up place, but who cares?
The Ark Such a great place for seafood! The building is actually part of a boat - so the building is shaped like a boat and sitting in the midde of a parking lot. Right near the water & plenty of seagulls to go with! :-) They have been around the community for years & years! They were out of commisssion for a while due to a fire, but have since finished all repairs. We were so lost - due to not having their food. Specially their hush puppies! We go and just get a huge helping of hush puppies - they are that good! ( No onion ... read more
If you enjoy fried seafood this is your place The Ark is another landmark in Jacksonville. This place has been here since I can remember. They did have a fire (probably due to all the grease) and rebuilt and re-opened. The hush puppies are to die for and they make the best cole slaw too. If you like your fish crispy (which I do) then you should come here. This is very typical coastal Carolina fried seafood. Service is quick and prices are affordable.
It's just okay ... This restaurant is shaped like a boat. But unfortunately the seafood and chicken they cook is so greasy. They do have good cole slaw. I stopped here about a year ago to try them since they had closed up and remodel some ... shame they didn't remodel their food. Prices are good, service good, but the food - yuck unless you like grease.
