Originally located on Creek Street, Arctic Bar is Ketchikan's oldest waterfront watering hole and home of the Happy Bears. During the 1956 flood, a combination of low tide and record level run-off down Ketchikan Creek sent the original "Arctic" off its pilings and into the drink. The Arctic Bar is one of the bests spot in Ketchikan… You just can’t miss it! It’s one of the oldest bars in town, with an awesome view right by the port. The vibe is great, the music is on point, and the staff is super friendly. And Paula, the owner, is simply amazing! Huge thanks for your kindness and hospitality, you make this place extra special! I love you all, coming back to visit you soon!
Signage straight up advertises draft beer at 3.50 each, from the side of the water front. 3 of us walk around and enter the premises to order a pint. Only after paying your tab are these full price. Apparently their deceptive advertising is just that and they don't disclose that it is for select beers only. The bartender, she was extremely snobby about it when I respectfully confronted about this. Great work, guys, you got me. Please clean up the outside patio too.
If you’re in Ketchikan, don’t miss the Arctic Bar! We popped in while on a cruise, and it was a blast. The vibe is super chill and welcoming, with just the right touch of local charm. The drinks were great, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Plus, you can’t beat the view! We enjoyed it so much, we hope to be back.
