My mother has been a patient in the Thompson House Rehabilitation Center at Ferncliff since early April, after falling at home and breaking her hip. She also suffers from multiple sclerosis, dementia, balance problems, chronic fatigue . . . the poor woman is a wreck. How is it possible to help a person in this state? What can be done? I am writing this 5 Star review with gratitude for the experience my sister, Alice Steffens has had and , I’m sure, will continue to have in her Center for Advanced Memory Care in Archcare at Ferncliff in Rhinebeck, New York. We, her family, are so grateful for the professional, caring manner in which she is treated on a daily basis. The OT/PT staff is outstanding. I was in a generous single room. The nurses are competent. The CNA'S (o ce I got to know them) were kind and very good at helping. The regular food server on the unith (2A) was terrific. Only minus were the often mushy vegetables (but not always) staff will always take time to help.. Great place to be if you or a loved one needs subacute care and rehab.

I am writing with regard to my 84-year-old sister, who recently had two rehabilitation stays at Ferncliff (December-January and March-April, each for several weeks), following emergency care at Northern Dutchess Hospital. My comments apply to both stays and reflect her experience as a patient and mine as a visiting family member and health care proxy.
