On September 3rd. 2024 I had surgery on my left foot after living in serious pain for a long time.Dr. Behrens was my orthopedic surgeon, and I have nothing but the highest praise for him and PA Meagan. He listens to what the patient has to say, (unusual to find a doctor today that does that).Yesterday was my last follow-up appointment, and I feel great! No pain at all when I walk.Thank you Dr. Behrens
Dr. Behrens is an excellent and compassionate provider. I had an ankle fracture and through his diligent care, I was able to avoid surgery. He was attentive and took his time to show me x-ray images and provided thorough answers to all of my questions. I have full confidence in his clinical expertise and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a top-level orthopedist who is truly interested in his patients. His team, partiularly his PA Meghan, were very responsive.
Dr. Behrens and Meagan Murtaugh are a pleasure to work with. Dr. Behrens is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and has great bedside manners. He will explain the issues in detail and provide you with thoughtful strategies for treatment. You will not feel rushed in your appointment and he will always make sure to answer any and all questions you have. And most importantly, my surgery was very successful!
Was a fantastic experience from surgery as well post-surgery support. The doctor and his team did a fantastic job. And let's not forget his team (Megan Murtagh) that performed a fantastic job on preoperational as well as post operational counseling and providing detailed information about the operation. Great job to both. Also, the hospital support during pre-surgery, during surgery well as post-surgery was fantastic, thanks to all.

Dr. Behrens and his team were stellar in managing a complex situation with Achilles rupture, always prioritized getting me the care that was needed. Felt like an ally through the entire process. Very appreciative to Dr. Behrens and Meagan and team.
The staff here always seems like they’d rather be elsewhere. The dr is good. However, it really ruins your experience when you’re dealing with a staff that treats you as though you’re a burden for them and they’d rather be somewhere else. TO THE STAFF: I am not a young man anymore and I’m sorry if I am bothersome to you, but perhaps you should be in a different profession like serving French fries from a drive up window than scheduling appointments. Steve is a great doctor, who operated on me on an emergency basis after I very badly broke my hip. A long steel rod, and some bolts and screws, inserted by the doctor, have put me on the road to recovery, with much less pain than I worried I might experience. Not only that, the nature of my injury was such that i remember almost nothing about being in the hospital. Which means I was properly medicated so as not to experience too much pain. After 3 doctors at the same institution had said my ankle needed surgery, Dr. Behrens bravely took another diagnostic step and successfully treated my fractured right ankle without surgery. That was in April 2021, and I have not had a problem of any kind with my well healed ankle. I can even do tree pose in yoga while standing on either foot. I am 85 years of age.As important, his NP is also stellar. Both have excellent listening and communicative skills.
