About a year and a half ago, they were able to diagnose my dog with IMHA quickly, so I have to give them credit for that. However, the vet I saw (wish I could remember his name), basically framed our situation as: admit her into their emergency clinic at a cost of around 8k, or let her die. I was not in a position to spend 8k at that time, so I was distraught. The vet literally watched me fight back tears while we discussed the issue, and then ultimately break down. VCA Downers Grove told us with certainty that our dog had a foreign object in his stomach and pushed for an invasive procedure. After putting him under anesthesia and scoping, they found nothing. Roscoe endured unnecessary risk, and we were left with over $2,500 in bills for a procedure that never should have happened. Reckless, misleading, and dangerous. I would never trust this clinic again.
Went to VCA Arboretum on 7/12 for an emergency visit. Dr Eva Bachar was very rude and told me to "stop talking she doesn't want to hear my dog's health history". She diagnosed him with a scratched cornea and gave us antibiotic eye drops. On our follow-up with our regular vet we found our dog had severe glucoma and unfortunately we had to put him down due to complete blindness and severe pain due to the eye pressure.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. We came around 7:30 pm to bring our dog that had a puncture wound that were in need of stitches. They didn’t treat her until 12am. She comes in and we notice all she has are 2 staples. They didn’t bother to clean her up so she still had blood dripping with no bandages. Nothing to cover it. After all that and we also met with like 5 different people each time someone came in. They tried to charge us $1k until I brought up the fact we paid for the same thing that only cost us $300. My significant other and I had to rush my cat Zoey in because she was having vomiting issues, panting really hard and was having a hard time. I called on the way there and the receptionist was so kind took information from me over the phone so when we got there, they could take Zoey right away and that is exactly what they did. They kept us updated on what was happening. They made us feel comfortable heard and understood. The doctor was super informative down to earth and very kind.
