We loved taking Rusty to swim! He was hesitant about getting in the pool and everyone was great with him, all 80lbs of him. They get a little shower after and they have all the towels, you just need to bring the dog. Would highly recommend! Really fun place!
I just took my 14 year old, arthritic rat terrier for his first session in the pool and he loved it! He can be a little nervous in new situations but Lisa is so gentle and patient that he settled right in. I thought he might be quite tired after the session, but he actually seemed more energetic. I learned about Aquatic Paws as a volunteer at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter as the wonderful 501c3 Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter has sent some dogs here for therapy and I was lucky enough to do transport. We highly recommend aquatic paws. Our senior dog started therapy after spinal surgery. Lisa and Bill were flexible, observant, and sensitive to Reuben’s needs. We never imagined the many options available to a paralytic dog. We’re heartbroken that we had to cut things short, but our dog loved a longer, happier life because of their care.
We absolutely love coming here every week. Our old lab has arthritis and he's starting to get some energy back after our swim sessions. Our chubby pug Louie hopped right in the treadmill on week 4 (I think he knows he gets yummy treats) but at least he's working them off. My husband and I HIGHLY recommend Aquatic Paws!
My senior chow and shepherd mix, Buffy, has hip dysplasia and the arthritis and muscle atrophy that goes along. At the recommendation of her PT Lynn Nalepa at Veterinary Holistic Center, we have been bringing Buffy weekly to work the treadmill with Lisa at Aquatic Paws. It's quite a workout for her! We are moving to 2x week to try and accelerate her progress. Lisa is very kind and works in frequent communication with our PT. Her facility is very comfortable and clearly top quality. Buffy is working hard and her workouts cont... read more
Have been looking forward to the opening of Aquatic Paws and yesterday I took my German Shepherd Maxx for some aquatic fun! He had a great time in the pool swimming and retrieving his ball. He took periodic rests on the pool deck and then back in the pool! Maxx was having such a great time he did not want to leave! Maxx also tried out the underwater treadmill. That was a success, too! He even took his ball with him chewing it as he logged the miles! This a great venue for rehabilitation, therapy, exercise when the weather do... read more
