Visited the pit this past weekend, and it was such an awesome experience. Got some beautiful rocks to add to my garden. I'll definitely be back!

Absolutley overpriced! Hardly anything cool worth finding. Save yourself the drive.

This is the Beryl Pit or Beryl mine pit. First of all, $20 per person is too much for this place. Second is a LONG walk to the mine area and even longer when you have a bucket of rocks. There are lots of cool rocks and minerals, but we didn't find that much, mostly mica and pyrite and some cool colored rocks. We only coveted a very small area so maybe there's more further in, but it's a long walk just getting up there. They should consider allowing vehicles in. If it were mine I'd allow vehicles in and charge by the pound.

Went with the kids. Was a good walk into the woods. But a little disappointing for the price. If you don't know what you are looking for it's just an area full of pretty rocks. It was fun looking at the different rocks. The signs for comparing what you find are not in the space where you find them. Also, don't forget to bring your own tools as there are none available to buy or rent, though this is not a huge deal as there is a lot already broken up. Mostly, felt like it wasn't worth the price paid.

Not worth the drive. Did not find anything interesting. Looks that the spoil are old and site wasn't blast lately
