Scam... fraud. I contacted my health insurance to confirm. APS claimed I owed amounts that were similar but not the same as expenses I already paid for. They list some Diagnostic Pathology Asso. but that is not the company that pulled my labs/bloodwork. Do not send them money!! Anytime anyone uses a crazy scare tactic like saying "drastic steps... leaving us no choice," be leery.
The staff are very rude. Likely overworked and underpaid, but that’s not my fault. They are threatening to send me to collections less than 45 days after the claim was paid by insurance. I have tried to pay my portion. Their system doesn’t work! I have spoken to reps and they are less than helpful, blaming me for their system failures. I did finally speak with someone today who actually tried to help. Based on other reviews I am not hopeful, but fingers crossed for resolution.
Sent a bill to me more than a year and a half after their claimed service date. I never authorized anything that was not 100% covered by insurance and do not like receiving a surprise bill in the mail. Surprise billing is actually against the law if you did not already know. Your incompetent staff hung up on me on my 1st try jumping through all your automated hoops, the 2nd person just went silent, and the 3rd finally was able to have a conversation. Scam. Received a final notice/collection agency referral letter in the mail, addressed to my old name. No details, amount doesn't match anything I've had done and I have a clear paper trail with my insurance company and the hospital which I'm paid up with zero balance. Will be reporting and seeking legal if they try anything further.
BEWARE!!! If I could give these people a MINUS 20 rating, I would! Statement date of March 30th, received in mail on April 7th, total due $1687.00 I paid in FULL via my credit union visa on April 14th. Got notification from my health insurer on May 2nd that bill for $1687.00 was PAID IN FULL on April 4th. I requested a refund of my April 14th payment on May 7th via a phone call to these people, and was told they would "investigate".
