We have a simple, old Maytag with readily available parts. It took over a month and cost us $440 to get it "repaired". After bringing it to the shop ($65 fee just to look at it), I had to call, week after week to ask for updates. Finally 5 weeks after drop off, I was told it would be $314. High, but at least I would get our dryer back. Go to pay it, now it's $374. Fine! Get it home and installed: Heat works (just like it did) but the drum doesn't turn (which was fine before).
