Even with the change from an independent practice to being owned by VCA (most veterinary clinics in Nanaimo are now owned by VCA), this clinic has been the best to me. They were great with me when my senior dog passed in January of 2025, and now that I have a new family member, they were great again with our visit yesterday. My own experience has been that they aren't pushy, give you the options that are available and try to help you the most they can while also operating a business.
Huge thanks to Applecross for getting all the examinations and paperwork done for my Westie to return to the UK. So much detail and care went in to get all the documents accurate and in time for travel. Tallie was super chilled and relaxed while she waited for her paperwork.
This is no longer a veterinary clinic. It is a corporation. They will try to upsell you on anything and everything. With this new model, I expect they will start losing patients left and right.
I've been bringing my 2 cats here for years, and my cat Kali has had a couple spur of the moment emergency needs and each time we call they are quick to get us in that day. I couldn't recommend this vet enough to everyone the communication is amazing before during and after the appointment they've checked in to see how kali is doing thankyou guys again for doing what you do for our fur babies 🩷🩷
Our dogs health was declining rapidly - having been the day in between a weekend and a holiday we weren’t able to get an appointment at our regular vet. Applecross was able to get us in that day and were exceptional. The vet took considerable time learning about our dogs very complex history and was very compassionate with our circumstance.
