When the King, who was then Prince Charles opened this practice I'm sure he had high hopes for it. Lots of staff, not a doctor to be seen, always an empty waiting room which feels quite unsettling to me....why?? Not one full time doctor apparently. I completed the online triage. I was promptly phoned by a doctor. He sounded interested and compassionate. I looked forward with confidence to my appointment. I arrived at the agreed time and was quickly called. It was soon evident that the doctor I saw wasn’t the same doctor who I had spoken to. It was a very negative experience. Extremely useless practice. After 4 weeks of severe cough, pain in the lungs, recurring fever, and dangerous breathing problems, I was advised by phone - Wait another 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, when the cough and other symptoms did not go away, I finally managed to ask for a face-to-face visit. It was not an easy or pleasant process, as the receptionist seemed to make it difficult. I to was refused help while in the area on holiday. So instead I was forced ( while feeling pretty rotten) to drive to Penrith hospital and sit in a waiting room for five hours ( still feeling rotten ) for a someone to dip a urine sample , confirm I had an infection and give me a prescription. A job that would have taken minutes. I think it's shameful. The urgent treatment centre are absolutely rushed off their feet and i am angry for them also.
