On my first visit to Dr. McNamara he commented on my converse, said "I know you're a character because of your shoes." When I told him I had CREST Scleroderma, he said, "I know, I can tell by looking at you." My dermatologist said he was being unfair. "Dr. Mac" as his patients jokingly refer to him is on auto pilot. He missed every sign and symptom that my mom was having serious coronary problems...chest pain, radiating pain, Shortness of breath. I am also a healthcare provider and was with my mom when she told him of these symptoms...he called it "stress and anxiety" and diagnosed Valume!!! He had her walk once around the office ...50 feet at best to check her O2 sat...it was in the mid 80's...his solution was to order home oxegen...that would have taken 7 days to get...... read more
