My recent stay with Francois at La Macaza turned out to be a real letdown. Even though I booked the apartment three months ahead, things took a nosedive just a day before we were supposed to arrive. Everything seemed okay until the property owner emailed to check our arrival time. When I said we'd be there by 6pm, Francois said that wouldn't work because check-in was only between 1pm and 2pm.
