My friend Jay and I had booked with Apostle Islands Ice Caves Walking Tour towards the end of February this year. On the day he was a bit ill so it was just my side-kick Alibi and myself. Our guid Ron met us on the ice of Lake Superior in Washburn for a magical walk along the shore and Bay. I grew up on Lake Michigan but have not spent much time on Superior. Now I’m afraid I’m hooked. Went on walking tour of ice caves along Lake Superior. Tour left from public access point and followed shoreline along Romans Point. Friendly, knowledgeable guide, and avoided the crush of people trying to view the caves further to the east near Meyers Beach.

I’ve been on 3 cave tours with this outfitter. Eugene is great!! He always makes sure “ safety first”…it’s great to learn about the history of the area too. The night caves were amazing!!! Our day cave hike was canceled due to the warm weather. The outfitter sent a list of other hikes with caves/waterfalls..So I drove up to Siskiwit falls and took a beautiful hike along the river!!! Can’t wait for next year!!!!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and noted specific details we should see and/or be aware of throughout the tour. Ron was friendly and conversational which made for a pleasant experience. Amazing views of the caves and general rock formations!

So much fun! Our guide did a good job leading us on the ice and we are happy we travelled to do this tour. It was not as long a duration as listed, which was fine.
