Do not use this company. Booked a trip back in February to take a kayak trip for 4 people on Sept. 20th. We received no information as to where to meet to take the kayak trip. On Sept. 19th, we called the company and got a voice mail telling us that cell service was bad it the area and to text them and they would promptly reply. Well we texted them and received no reply. We booked our small group from Houghton point. We tried to contact the outfitters many times before and after booking with no luck. We reached the point 15 minutes before our time just like the instruction on the email stated and no one was there. There was another family also waiting for the same time slot. We drove out 4 hours for this trip and there was no one at the shack nor in the equipment Van parked there. Captain James and the tour guides know their stuff and the ability to kayak the outer islands was a huge benefit to the tour group. Individuals of many abilities were able to participate. However, the cost was a bit high and the actual time spent on the water paddling was less that other tours.
An amazing experience for kayakers regardless of experience. The Houghton Point location was a good choice because it is typically sheltered from the wind. The guides were great and everything was well organized , making for a memorable outing. I give the entire operation five stars without reservation.
My husband and I had a wonderful time on our kayak tour and would do it again in a heartbeat! Randy was our incredible guide, very informative and made the experience even better!
