New name - don't go here! – This place is now called Legacy Cleaners, but I could not find an updated listing online. DO NOT BRING YOUR CLOTHES HERE. I brought in a beautiful rayon, wool-lined jacket, and when I went to pick it up, there was a run in it. Employee was very apologetic, as it was their fault, and offered to fix it. This business needs to be shut down! – After checking a few other locations, I trusted these guys with some very expensive clothing and to my shock the garments were returned Discolored and Damaged beyond repair ... DO NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL! They will not negotiate any compensation even with receipts for your items.
correction – Legacy started running aphrodite cleaners corp. since december of 2008... Not only have work has improve but still a regular customer.....
AWEFUL! – I was a customer for only 3 months before they lost my laundry. Both my regular clothes and work cloths, gone! After avoiding me for 2 months they finally agreed that I should be compensated but now its been another 6 months with barely any word. I'm a student and cannot afford to just buy a whole new wardrobe. I'm sick of the run around, this is just another thieving city corporation. I'm with that Matt guy, they should PAY! The boycott is on!
CLASS ACTION – To everyone disappointed with their experience at Aphrodite Cleaners in Harlem - you are not alone. After some research, it is clear that this is an irresponsible company that looses peoples clothes, damages their goods, and then proceeds to stonewall their customers. Nightmare on 117th Street - Aphrodite thievery – Aphrodite on 117th and Frederick Douglass LOST TWELVE SHIRTS - $650 worth - in early December. After the owner confessed that he had no clue where they were - he said he would pay three shirts immediately. When I presented him with the bill and claim, I got no payment. He referred me to Markos in the head office. Markos promised $300 immediately in late December. Its March now - I have called and been given the run around every time - its in the mail, I sent it, etc. etc. etc.... read more
