They ghosted us twice. My partner and I struggled for months trying to find an apartment and attempted to reach out to the apartment people on numerous occasions. They responded once and then never again.
The application process run by The Apartment People is a scam. My fiancée and I toured an apartment, paid $160 in application fees, and then had “been approved” to rent the unit. We were then informed that the next step was to pay a deposit worth a full month’s rent and only AFTER paying would we receive a lease to sign. I asked multiple times to get a lease that I could review and execute before paying and they simply refused. AWESOME team! The Apartment people team is polite, friendly, helpful and have patience with my inquiries. I have been with them since 2020 and every one has been a pleasure to work with. They helped me find the best tenant (they are truly a wonderful tenant) within days and I could not be more pleased with their customer service. I booked an appointment online and called a few hours beforehand to confirm. Unfortunately, the person I spoke with was unhelpful—he took my information and then abruptly hung up on me. I’m left wondering whether I should even bother showing up for the appointment. Truly disappointing customer service. I had used this service many years ago when I was younger (I'm 37 now), and back then, I had a very troubling experience where the person showed me his own apartment and made inappropriate advances. Would not recommend working with these folks. Very unorganized but managed to sort out a showing for me at last minute. Primary issue is that they did not communicate the application process. I ultimately lost out on my top choice for an apartment because they didn't mention that I should submit 1st months rent with the application. Felt like I was scammed out of the $89 application fee in addition to losing out on the apartment. Especially since I was informed when I applied that there were no other applications.
