After my 2 month old electric water heater broke, I called for warranty repairs. AO Smith provided two local contractors that they use for warranty work. One only works on gas appliances and the other was so piss poor they wouldn't return my phone calls. After getting permission, I went outside of their network and the repairs were estimated at just over $600. I got the price down to $300 and AO Smith would only reimburse me $100. Their warranty SUCKS and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER AO SMITH PRODUCT FOR ANY OF MY HOUSES!

They took vacation hours from my spouse , wouldn’t give him his fmla after filing it twice! The way they asked ? Then they never gave him his sign on bonus after working two years for them ! And his checks are messed up not just once but multiple times! Don’t work here !!!! They will run you to death and then treat you like trash !
I bought a water heater, and immediately had issues with the water temperature being scalding hot despite the thermostat being set to the lowest level. I called about the warranty, and was given a plumber to call but they said if I can't get that plumber, then I need to call a local plumber and they will reimburse me.
