Here's a rule that most people do not know, an appraiser by law can appraise anything but not buy it. They either buy or appraise. If they do that they can set any price for an item. Not ethical at all. Cy came in to my home and said my 19th C PERSIAN Serapi was an Afghani and paid 1/10 of what it is worth. At the time I did not know any better. I recently confronted him and he said he will paid me $3,000 if I can prove that the rug was Persian. 3 REAL EXPERTS all determined the rug is Persian. He then disappeared. Be carefu... read more
