2 1/2 years ago, I fell and broke my right kneecap in two places. Dr. Davidson operated and fit the pieces back in place with clips and wires (or whatever they use!). I was in the hospital only 2 days, a week of bedrest, 6 weeks of therapy, and I was walking just as well as before the accident.
