After being referred to a specialist for a root canal on a tooth with prolonged sensitivity pain, then to an oral surgeon for that tooth to be extracted instead, I was perplexed...both are probably sound recommendations, but I was not ready to part with my tooth, which had stopped hurting (8 months now).
