BEWARE and do your research. Dr. Urbanek’s split causes molar eruption and permanently changes to the structure of your mouth. I now need braces ($6500) to correct the damage done by his insanely expensive splint ($1600 + 800 for a replacement splint). Know this: The splint holds your molars apart, to keep the TMJ in a resting position. Did you know that when your teeth don’t touch, they keep growing? That is the "eruption" part. RecommendedDr Urbanek performed surgery for my TMJ disorder almost 20 yrs ago. He placed a TMJ titanium implant which still works today. He is a kind, and caring professional. I would gladly recommend him to anyone.
