I came her once a few years back but never came back. The reason why I never came back is because he made an inappropriate comment about my vagina and when he Made that comment his student or who ever she was laughed. It made me feel insecure and self conscious. That was the last time I went to a male gynecology. He’s unprofessional!
While he is a careful and thorough examiner and communicator, he exudes an unnecessarily intense chair side manner. This did nothing to alleviate my nervousness, but in fact escalated it. My BP went through the roof and it NEVER gets that high. He insisted I go to the ER to check it out before I left. The ER checked me over and confirmed I was fine after leaving Gentile. My Pap test results also took three weeks which I find unacceptable! However, he has an excellent nurse.
To share some insight: for years I’ve dealt with debilitating chronic endometriosis with cysts and fibroids. Late last year I finally had a surgery to remove it with another surgeon. After the surgery I found out UChicago was in Crown Point so upon a friend recommendation, because I was having the same issues as before even after the surgery, I made an appointment with Dr. Gentile.
