About this business

My focus is on providing the optimal care for your knee, shoulder, elbow, or ankle problem. I have been in practice over 25 years, and when there is a nonsurgical approach available that will work in the patients best interest, I will choose that rather than jumping the gun and performing surgery prematurely or unnecessarily. On the other hand, when a surgical solution is the best, as well as most expedient way to handle the problem, I will present this to the patient. I have been in an academic position for most of my pract... read more

Kept dislocating my knee as a child bounced around to a bunch of different sport medicine doctors. All seems hopeless until I met this doctor. He operated and fixed my knee now about 10 year later it is still perfect and couldn't be more happy. Would love to get other knee and shoulders done as my body loves to fall apart. This doctor is the best! Highly recommend

Tore my PCL and LCL ligaments in my knee in 1995, replaced both with donor tendons from a cadaver. About 10years after that surgery I twisted ir did something to the knee the local Highly recommended Ortho tested my knee and asked who did my surgery, he could not believe how tight the joint was and was very impressed. Did great by me.

Dr schepsis operated on my right lower leg 32 years ago trying to repair the mistake another doctor made. He put a plate on my tibia and turned an 8 degree varus deformity into a 10 degree Valgus deformity. I am 53 now and can barely walk any more , I now need an ankle fusion. Next time Doc look at the knee joint as well as the ankle when alaigning a fracture, you needed to bend the plate a bit more than you did. I had dr varus , I call you dr Valgus

I tore my sternal chest tendon, but the first surgeon did not fix it. Dr. Schepsis fixed my chest tendon 4 years after my original injury.

I have seen Dr. Schepsis for a few issues in the past and he is the only one that truly took my best interest to heart. Other doctors immediately wanted to oporated and he was the only one that said lets take a steo back and try pt and other treatments before turning my life upside down with surgery. Other doctors had given up me and he would not. He has never told me to stop running forever. He encouranges stronly to let the body heal and be smart. not give up.

After waiting around for almost 3 HOURS!! this doctor told me to stop running! I thought this was a "SPORTS MEDICINE" facility? I'm not sure how this guy became the Director of Sports Medicine when he is grossly overweight and tells his patients to stop running! Guess I need to go somewhere where they actually repspect patient's time schedule and know a little bit about how to exercise themselves!

A year after rupturing my hamstring and initially not being diagnosed properly by another physician, Dr. Schepsis' skillful repair enabled me to resume all the athletic pursuits I had previously enjoyed. It feels just like it did before the injury. Most importantly, you can have open and honest communication with the guy. In my mind, he is all you could ask for in a doctor who specializes.
