It's hard not to feel at home in Anteprima. This new rustic Italian restaurant in Andersonville is a laid back mid-priced option that offers simply delicious home-style dishes. Owner Marty Fosse frequents the location to make sure his customers feel more like family. The attractive decor perfectly compliments the regional Italian cuisine. The all Italian wine selection is ample and they carry a number of interesting imported beers. Meal portions are satisfying.

Unfortunate Greeting – The first person I met in your restaurant was so full of attitude that I was grateful when there was a wait. "The Reservation Name...?" poured out of his mouth with such unwelcome, and condescension, as if too say, "how could you possibly expect to get a seat in this restaurant tonight without a reservation?" We were all on the same page... you and I both knew that we didn't have a reservation. If you did think we actually had a reservation, you never would have approached us with such an attitude. Too... read more
Citysearch Editorial Review – The condo development and retail growth in Andersonville can mean only one thing for its newly moneyed neighbors--the restaurant scene is sure to follow. And it has in spades with the addition of this Italian anti-red sauce restaurant. It’s not quite fine dining, but the eatery takes its food seriously, incorporating regional, organic ingredients that leave a solid impression. Grilled octopus, for example, and house-made Orecchiette layered with lamb sausage, red chilis and bitter greens aren’t ... read more
Fantastic experience (if you have the cash) Fine dining in Andersonville. We were there on a busy Saturday night, but our reserved table was ready immediately when we walked in the door. The server had so many tables, I have no idea how she managed to make each of us feel important. The food was out-of-this-world. The prices were a little high, but nothing really beyond what you should expect for a place like this in Chicago. We'll definitely be going back for the next semi-special occasion.
More than pleasantly surprised!! – My boyfriend and I went here for the first time last night, for Valentine's Day dinner, a night that he usually loathes going out for, due to the crowdedness, overpriced menus, and poor service that usually go hand in hand w/ the occasion! I was able to convince him to go out this year, and fortunately, we were both pleasantly surprised! Our waiter was prompt and friendly. Food came out in a timely fashion, despite the packed house. The food was EXCELLENT!!!!!! (And I never say that lightly... read more
Service, food, ambiance--all winners – A refreshing change for Italian cuisine. Inside or outside patio dining, it was a perfect night for the patio. Not the typical pasta, sauce and meat Italian menu. Utilization of fresh and different ingrediants. Our server, Michael, was excellent in describing some the of menu items and making recommendations, expecially since there were some unfamiliar Italian terms on the menu. The wine list was adequate, our bottle of house cianti was a satifying choice after being disappointed by a m... read more
I hate this place. From start to finish it was an awful experience. Right off the bat, the host was snotty and pretentious. He told my party of two that the wait would be ten minutes while he set up a table, then when two people walked in about five minutes into our wait, he seated them immediately. The acoustics eek out a first place over the food for the worst aspect of this place. The din was deafening. Even when the crowd started to thin, carrying on a conversation was impossible. The waitress was visibly annoyed by the ... read more
Bustling Clark Street ristorante adds to Andersonville's embarrassment of restaurant riches. – The Scene The restaurant's shingle reads "Cibo, Vino, e Amici" (Food, Wine and Friends), which sums up the draw of this Italian eatery. Soft green walls and tin ceiling, hand painted ceramics, and mix and match light fixtures evoke a comfortable rustic setting. Personable waitstaff and a table-hopping blend of gay, lesbian and straight patrons supply the friendly neighborhood ambience. The Food A basket containing crunchy grissini,... read more
