Extremely Rude – I too had a bad experience. The woman behind the counter was incredibly rude. I will not be going back either.
Humiliated by inept phamacists – I had always been satisfied with my experience at this "mom & pop" pharmacy until my recent experience filling a prescription. I was put-off at first when the pharmacist announced to the store (with other customers present) what medication I was taking... but what unfolded next was appalling and humiliating. Where everybody knows your name... – After having a nightmare of an experience at Duane Reade and countless others trying to get a prescription filled, Ansonia was a godsend. Smart, attentive service - and I actually feel like the pharmacist cares about you - just like in the pharmacy commercials that so do not comport with reality. Even Bigelows down the street doesn't have service like this - Bigelows is a zoo and they seem understaffed. If you want to get a prescription filled by responsible people, this is the place.
The Real Dope – Whether you like Ansonia or not, may depend on what you're looking for here. I come for the art displays in the window. I'm not sure who curates this pharmacy but I've actually seen some pretty great artwork on display. An exhibit a few months back featured a series of small suburban landscapes that were cleanly constructed and had an incredibly rich palette. A truly masterful use of color.
