My experience of this place goes back to 1955. It was a corner grocer called Jakes corner store. Rose & Jake Banks were the owner. They were very old when I was a small boy. I lived down the street at 3825 Beehler Ave. This corner store was a snapshot of 1940's / 1950's Baltimore. The right side of the store was a huge "penny candy" display case.
