We decided to shorten our stay after our travel plans changed unexpectedly and informed the caretaker that we would be checking out early. Rather than simply processing our departure, we were told to wait and explain ourselves to the owner. When the owner arrived, her approach immediately felt confrontational. She questioned why we were leaving and proceeded to lecture us about how bed and breakfasts operate, explaining that our reserved dates had been blocked off and could not be rebooked. Our room was very nice, clean and comfortable.
We stayed three nights in the Ban-y-Byrn room and could not have been happier. Bob, our host, was so friendly and welcoming, and the entire inn has such a relaxing atmosphere. The house and our bedroom were beautiful, with a comfortable bed and an invigorating shower with great water pressure. Breakfast, served by Andy in the bright sunroom, was delicious and made extra special with tablecloths and cloth napkins. Look no further if you’re looking to stay in Bar Harbor! Anne’s White Columns Inn offered a world class experience with local touches and hospitality. My biggest criteria for a successful stay is cleanliness and safety. These two points were met perfectly. The bed was ultra comfortable and we slept well every night.
