This year they were giving away free raffle tickets at the gate. Immediately upon entry (5 feet from the gate) they had people with ipads soliciting you for the raffle. This seemed spammy. A few months later we received a call saying that we had won a $200 gift card via the raffle. We would need to visit a vacation property to redeem it. They were persistent. The boat show charges high prices to get in the door and then does not provide working restrooms. The show was fun and we enjoyed it. But, to charge us over $100 in entrance fees for Thursday, Friday, and Sunday and then not have functional bathrooms on any of the days was disgusting. The prot-a-potties were fine, not great but adequate. The trailer bathrooms never had fully functioning toilets and sinks. It was gross. All of the vendors and staff were great. Very well organized event!
Too many stuffy yacht builders that wont let you on their boats even though some were not busy at all and others had no visible guests aboard. I am referring to HH, Balance, and many others. Be warned - Apparently you have to make an appointment well in advance just to get on half of the boats there. Nowhere does the boat show tell you this when you buy your ticket.
