If I could leave Dr. Engel no stars, I certainly would have. She has got to be the worst doctor I have ever come into contact with. She has been my doctor for the past 2 years and I have seen her twice. The third time was when I was super sick, had no voice and couldn't stop coughing. She couldn't have cared less that I was suffering and nothing was helping (5 different types of cough syrup, cough drops, antihistamine, Nyquil, etc. made no difference). My experience with dr engle was not a good one. i made the appointment to discuss 3 separate medical issues with this dr. and truly hoped that she would help me and discuss some options. she spent a total of maybe 5 minutes with me, she never left her desk chair; she sent referrals to 3 physicians and never addressed any of the three. Talk about going in blind. She dismissed me and my concerns, she is extremely rude. Advent has some great physicians and surgeons…she is not one of them.
I had an extremely disappointing experience with this doctor. I was charged $500 for an ‘establish care’ visit, which I assumed would be covered by my insurance, but it was not. I feel this pricing is excessive and was not clearly communicated upfront. Patients deserve transparency about costs before receiving services. This experience felt both unfair and exploitative. I strongly recommend verifying all fees and insurance coverage beforehand if you consider visiting this office.
I went to this doctor and she doesn’t seem to care. Sent me off when I had kidney stones. Just wants you to keep coming back again and again to charge insurance. Please look for someone else who will take the time with you as a patient.
