I think that in many cases animals are neglected due to total ignorance. It is reasonably easy to do something about blatant abuse, however I feel that just having a pet that you spend no time with is to my mind also a form of abuse. Just look around at your own circle of friends and family and evaluate the amount of time they spend actually playing with their pets. I think you might be in for a surprise. Come guys we all must start somewhere so why not at home and in your own neighbourhood.
