Great experience, but DVM manners and communication needs improvement. Warm, kind, informative staff. They saved my new puppy’s life when she developed pneumonia soon after her adoption from kennel cough. My only reason for rating 3 stars versus 5 is simply because of how difficult it was to discuss medical facts surrounding care, and how billing was communicated for an overnight visit to the ICU, which was very expensive. I thought I had agreed to and paid in advance for one price, and was surprised to learn the next mornin... read more
It was horrible to wake up in the middle of the night with my dog Millie visibly in so much pain. I called AERC and the receptionist encouraged me to bring her in because she was showing signs of a GI blockage. Upon our arrival, I was warmly greeted and Millie was taken back to have her vitals checked. They set me up in a cozy room with dimmable lights, large lounger chairs, and coffee/tea/snacks, then brought my dog back to hang out with me. I was so grateful that hey gave her IV pain medication and an x-ray right away. The... read more
We took our cat in because she had a broken loose tooth and was clearly in a lot of pain. We saw the tooth in her mouth and saw it wiggling and decided to bring her in for evaluation and pain meds since our normal vet was closed. Once we eventually were seen, the vet came into the exam room without our cat which we were told she would be bringing her in, and then she told us that there was no tooth there and it must have fallen out. We asked her to double check so she left and came back a minute later and said yep no teeth o... read more
We had to say good bye to our beloved Willow who was 16.5 years old and lived a wonderful life. It was the weekend and we wanted to go to AERC in St. Paul as we had been there with Willow before. We called and they said to come in whenever we were ready. When we got there, they were all ready for us and brought us directly to a very nice room that was set up for us. Jenna and Dr. Bush explained the process well (including after life options), were very compassionate, and gave us all the time we needed. They made a terrible d... read more
DO NOT BRING YOUR GREYHOUND HERE. Our greyhound dislocated her toe, we brought her here since we couldn't get in at our regular vet. I totally understand and respect that they need to triage patients, but we waited 4 hours before she received any pain management. Then, they insisted on taking xrays of the toe, despite dislocations being common in greyhounds and an easy fix. They also insisted on sedating her, despite her being a very chill dog, and despite sedation being riskier for greyhounds. After doing xrays, they told u... read more
